Dr. Gian Carle

I have been working in the energy industry for almost 20 years: I worked for various major energy suppliers in the areas of renewable energy trading, mobility, risk management, corporate development, and regulatory affairs. I was also co-initiator of the SFOE flagship project "Quartierstrom" in Walenstadt, which used blockchain to build a digitalized local electricity exchange. Within this project, I was primarily responsible for regulatory issues and business models.

I am an environmental scientist (ETH) with a doctorate from the Institute of Transport Planning and Systems at ETH Zurich, an EMBA, and further qualifications in "Management of EVUs (HSG)" and in digital leadership.

In addition to consulting on the use of SEP, my areas of expertise include strategic issues in the areas of decarbonization (trading and production of renewable energy, guarantees of origin, verification of electricity labeling, product strategies and e-mobility concepts), decentralization (decentralized business models as well as self-consumption strategies, concepts and solutions) and digitalization (innovation management and digitalization strategies).
